As my husband, Jim, continues to wonder, “how did I get myself into this mess?” get to know me.
I am the stay at home mom to three children: James, born December 2 2009, Josie, born May 6 2011, and Rita, born September 30 2012, and John Christopher, born September 28 2014.
This blog is a chance for me to write about the little I know as loquaciously as possible. Started in March of 2013 in an effort to somewhat maintain the ability to write a complete sentence in between diapers and imaginary sword fights with dinosaurs, GoodOneGod prefers sentences written as garrulous run-ons.
I enjoy family, faith, fashion, fitness and food, and if the domain had been available or appropriate, I may have just welcomed you to the F Word Blog.
I believe motherhood to be a wonderful adventure full of humiliation in its pursuit of wisdom, and next to marrying my husband, the greatest gift of my life.
Marriage and babies is also my life’s best reminder of God’s sense of humor through the messy and embarrassing, joyous and disgusting. While He is blamed for many things, funny is not often one of them. Through mom confessions, rambling stories, thoughts on faith, and occasional product recommendations, GoodOneGod will most likely offer little spiritual development, and even fewer tips on doing anything right.

R. Ilove you! I love your babies (though James is getting to be a big boy now). I miss seeing your husband. There now I sound like some sort of stalker, baby/ husband stealer, don’t I! I’m sitting here crying, because, well you just said everyting that I’ve known in my heart but never put into words and the basic simplicity of faith has me in tears, sounds kinda weird. You are an amzing woman and mom. The faith that both you and JIm live daily humbles me. I cannot wait to read more in future days. May our Lord continue to bless you abundantly and with out measure

Grace pointed me over here today, and just have to say that I LOVE that G.K. Chesterton quotation you’ve included on this page. I remember reading it a few years ago (is it in “Orthodoxy”?), and although that particular passage always stuck with me, it hadn’t occurred to me how well it applies to motherhood until now, with our first 3-month-old at home. Thanks for the reminder. 🙂
Our husbands sound so much alike! Mine even convinces me once in a great while to go coyote/bigfoot calling. I have one mean sasquatch lady scream it turns out. LOL! And hockey hockey hockey……all the time hockey. It’s only pre season for crying out loud and I’ve already walked in the living room to him staring intently at the TV while total chaos ensues around him. Ugh. I’ve enjoyed your posts immensely and look forward to more!!
